The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) on Tuesday September, 23, 2025 about
4: 00 a.m., continued its intensified efforts to crack down on gun violence across the
island. A series of coordinated operations were carried out in the communities of
Conway, Barnard Hill, and Marchand, Castries.
During the course of these operations, six (6) warrants were executed, two (2) in
Marchand and four (4) in Conway/Barnard Hill. Officers also conducted vehicular
checkpoints in the targeted areas, resulting in the impounding of four (4) vehicles.
As part of the operation, one individual, Malik Philip of Conway, was arrested and is
expected to face ninety-six (96) charges later today. These include:
24 counts of possession of firearm ammunition
24 counts of importation of firearms into Saint Lucia
24 counts of customs-related offences for illegally imported goods
24 counts of fraudulent evasion under the Customs Act

These charges stem from an intercepted barrel at Port Castries containing firearms,
seized in a joint effort by the Customs and Excise Department and the Guns,
Narcotics and Firearms Unit.

The successful operation was conducted by the Special Operations Team, the Guns,
Narcotics and Firearms Unit, the Marchand Police Station, the Northern Tactical
Team, and the Special Services Unit.
The RSLPF remains committed to addressing the threat of illegal firearms and
ensuring the safety of all citizens. Further updates will be provided as the matter
