Helen’s Daughters Executive Director Keithlin Caroo-Afrifa Honored at Caribbean Posh Weekend; Momentum Builds Towards the Unconference on Agriculture at Project Chocolat 

[Castries, Saint Lucia – August 2025] – Keithlin Caroo-Afrifa, Founder and Executive Director of Helen’s Daughters, was honored at the 2025 Caribbean POSH ICON Woman Awards in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, as Changemaker for Women & Agriculture. 

The Caribbean POSH ICON Woman Awards celebrate women across the region whose work and leadership redefine representation and impact. Caroo-Afrifa was recognized alongside a distinguished group of Caribbean women leaders, including Cedella Marley, Aisha Hinds, and Patrice Roberts. 

Caribbean Posh Weekend is a unique platform that celebrates all types of Caribbean women— business leaders, entrepreneurs, artists, civil society advocates, and innovators—coming together in one inclusive space. Caroo-Afrifa’s recognition marks a milestone for women in agriculture and non profits, sectors that are often underrepresented in regional women’s events. 

“I am so used to creating spaces for others that I rarely pause to consider my own place in them. Caribbean Posh was different. For the first time, I felt that women from every sector—including agriculture—were equally seen, celebrated, and valued,” said Caroo-Afrifa. “Janette has crafted this platform so beautifully, and I’m deeply grateful for the recognition.” 

Building on this momentum, Helen’s Daughters will host the Unconference on Agriculture on August 23–24, 2025 at Project Chocolat in Soufrière, Saint Lucia. Designed in the spirit of inclusivity, the Unconference is free and open to the public—not just for people in agriculture, but for everyone. 

The event will feature networking, workshops, peer-to-peer solutions, and thought leadership, uniting farmers, entrepreneurs, civil society leaders, innovators, policy-makers, students, and the wider community to address shared challenges in climate resilience, food security, and agricultural innovation. 

Shuttle services from Castries, Dennery and Vieux-Fort will be available for a nominal fee, ensuring accessibility for all attendees. Registration is available online via the Helen’s Daughters website or in person at the FarmHers Market in Rodney Bay. 

“Caribbean Posh reminded me how powerful it is when women from all walks of life come together. At the Unconference, we’re creating that same energy for agriculture—making it a space where everyone belongs, from farmers to innovators, policy leaders, and entrepreneurs,” Caroo-Afrifa added.
