This week we connect with Koana, a self-described “bold, dark, and eclectic” woman from Martinique. Through a mix of creative communication and patience, we were able to capture her unique spirit and bring her story to life. A former basketball player, her free-spirited nature and deep connection to her island home shine through. From her favorite spot on the island, the river and its vegetation then to the romantic gesture that swept her off her feet, Koana gives us a glimpse into her world. As she puts it, she hopes people will think of her as a “Pearl of Moana”

1. What’s the very first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? The first thing I do when I wake up is go pee.

2. What’s your favorite ice cream flavor, and do you like it in a cup or a cone? My favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla pecan and I like it in a good cone, but you need to have the technique to eat it well. I don’t like to be cluttered or pollute.

3. What’s your favorite spot on the island that makes you feel most alive? The river and its vegetation, even on the roads to go there, I love it very much.

4. Describe your style in three words. How do you like to dress when you step out? I like to be bold, dark, and eclectic.

5. What do you usually wear to bed? Usually a large t-shirt.

6. Are you more of a heels girl or sneakers all day? I’m rather a sneakers girl, specifically for basketball if I have to run.

7. If you had to pick the sexiest song that always gets you in a mood, what would it be? P power of kkrytical, I think, but I hesitate.

8. What’s the one dish from Martinique that nobody can cook better than home? Plantain gratin for sure.

9. What’s your favorite cocktail or drink when you’re out with friends? Monaco, very sweet.

10. How would you describe your taste in men? What kind of energy or vibe attracts you most? They have the same criteria as my clothes, but I like charisma and bosses who value their sexy side and have a passion. Someone spiritually cultivated and, in general, while remaining dominant.

11. What’s the most romantic thing a man has ever done for you? He gave me his grandmother’s diamond ring.

12. Are you more into a quiet date night or a wild night out dancing? It depends on the mood, but I would say a chill evening.

13. Are you single, taken, or keeping it mysterious? Even single.

14. What’s one physical feature you find impossible to resist on a man? I’m not very physical, but eyes or a luscious mouth. I hesitate; I can’t choose.

15. Tell us something about your personality that men usually fall for. My maturity is what stands out the most.

16. If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would you go and who would you take with you? In Brazil, and I would go there with my little brother.

17. What’s your guilty pleasure snack or food you can never say no to? The best cha cha.

18. What’s your idea of the perfect lazy Sunday? I get up in prayers, do a little cleaning to my praises, have meals on fire ready to be cooked, my blunt, my man, a small river bath, a nap, a sunset, and especially no work the next morning.

19. If a man wanted to impress you on the first date, what’s one thing he should never forget? He should never forget to be himself and to be respectful, but above all, to have hygiene.

20. When people hear the name Koana, what’s the one word you want them to always think of? I would like them to think of a Pearl of Moana
